The Bondage Workshop - How to make rope handcuffs

Step 1
Make two loops out of the center of the 2-foot piece of rope.

Step 2
Pull one of the loops you made in the rope through the other loop. This will put a small not in the middle of the rope and will form the two cuff portions of the hand cuffs.

Step 3
Tell your friend or volunteer to slide their hands into the two loops. Once their hands are in the loops, pull the extra rope to tighten the cuffs around their hands.

Step 4
Tie the left over rope in a tight knot until all of the rope is used. The volunteer will be handcuffed and unable to untie the knots or to remove his hands from the cuffs.

Instructions
Step 1
Start off with the right kind and right amount of rope. You should use a rope similar to climbing rope as this rope can be tied very tightly around a person's wrists. Roughly 3 feet of rope should suffice when making rope handcuffs.

Step 2
Grab the rope at the middle with your index fingers, middle fingers and thumb. Using these three fingers will make twisting the rope easier.

Step 3
Move about 3 to 4 inches down both sides of the rope. This is where you will begin to make your rope handcuffs.

Step 4
Bend your wrists upward while holding the rope to create two ovals in the rope. These ovals should be big enough to fit an adult male wrist. You can eyeball it and increase or decrease the size of the ovals based upon your particular needs.

Step 5
Bring the two ovals together so that one side of one oval is overlapping one side of the other oval. In other words, the right side of the oval in your left hand should be on top of the left side of the oval in your right hand (or vice versa if you wish).

Step 6
Pull the oval that is resting on top over the other oval. When you do this, you should still be holding both of the ovals with both hands. This will create a knot in the center of the rope while keeping your two ovals intact. Pull the ovals tightly to create a secure knot. You should now notice that the ovals have increased and look more like "dog ears."

Step 7
Ask a partner to stand in front of you with his hands behind his back.

Step 8
Place the left dog ear around his left wrist and the right dog ear around his right wrist. Pull on either side of the rope once you do this to make sure the knot in the center of the rope is tight and secure.

Step 9
Tie two additional knots above the original knot. You will be using the remaining part of rope that is hanging down below the person's hands. Again, you should tie these knots very tightly so that they can only be undone by you.
