Mwa ha ha ha, Mwa ha ha ha ha . Happy Halloween

Its that time of the year where all the little kiddies dress up as witches and goblins and come knocking on the door for Trick or Treats.

I maybe an Aussie living in the UK but I got into Halloween as a kid with all the camp cheesy late night horror shows on the gogglebox.

When I lived in Canada for a year as a teenager (12 yrs old at the time) we went trick or treating.
Its massive in the US and Canada.

It was treats all the way, as that is the mentality out there. Everyone enjoys it.

Here in the UK its getting a little better but doesn't have the same vibe. If you are out for Halloween in the UK tonight, then only go to the houses that have dressed and decorated for the event or have pumpkins on the door step. I am afraid its the place where it is all or nothing.

The funny thing is that it is Celtic immigrants from Ireland, Scotland and North England and Wales that took the jack o lanterns to the Americas. They were turnips carried about with a candle inside to guide the way. Until they found something bigger to cut up like Pumpkins.

Samhain and Halloween are an old European celebration for Summers end. The pagan influence was why All Saints Day is the 1st November. Religion oppressing the older beliefs once again. Okay they burnt crops and sacrificed animals celebrating the death of the old year and the rebirth of a new year to come. It was a harvest festival in effect. As a result of the church creating All Saints day, the 31st October became All Hallows Eve then this was shortened to Halloween.

The late 1800s and the early 1900s was when the Americans amalgamated all the old European traditions and created a communal countrywide celebration to bring people and communities together, which is why it is so big there and why there are Halloween parties all over the place.

Okay okay. You want the good stuff right. Here is a link to a kinky little video for you to enjoy.

Enjoy the pictures and have a happy Halloween.
